Online casino play in Ontario

The two casinos at the falls, Fallsview Casino Resort and Casino Niagara, are buildings with doors and a gaming floor. Online casino play in Ontario runs under its own rules, set out below.

Ontario's regulated online market

Ontario's regulated online casino market opened on April 4, 2022. Its regulator is the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario, the AGCO. A private operator needs AGCO registration and an operating agreement with iGaming Ontario. The official list of those operators is the iGaming Ontario directory at igamingontario.ca.

Two conditions apply to every player. They must be 19 or older, the same minimum age that applies at both casinos at the falls. They must also be physically in Ontario when a bet is placed.

Sites inside the regulated market display the iGaming Ontario and BetGuard logos. The logos are a first check, and the directory remains the official list. OLG.ca is the government-run site.

BetGuard and My PlayBreak

BetGuard, at betguard.ca, is iGaming Ontario's self-exclusion portal, launched on May 14, 2026. One request opts a person out of every regulated online gambling site in Ontario, OLG.ca included. It is open to people 19 or older. Terms are 6 months, 1 year, 5 years or a custom length. It does not cover land-based casinos.

For Fallsview Casino Resort and Casino Niagara, the program is My PlayBreak, OLG's self-exclusion for Ontario casinos. Casino terms are 3 or 6 months, or 1 to 5 years, and a break bars entry to every Ontario casino. Enrolment runs through the OLG Support Centre at 1-800-387-0098, with staff on site, or at a PlaySmart Centre. Terms cannot be cancelled once made.

How this guide is paid

The Falls Weekend Guide is independent: not a casino, not a hotel, and not the site of either casino. It takes no bets and has no accounts. Paid links appear on the home page only, each marked Ad. There are three: a button in the menu, a block just below the first screen and a block near the end of the page.

All three lead to one private online casino partner, which pays the guide a commission and can change. Any online site, the partner included, can be checked against the iGaming Ontario directory at igamingontario.ca.
